Building Impact: Celebrating Women in Construction

Kristy Eudy

During Women in Construction Week, we proudly celebrate the women of KPRS who are making their mark across every corner of our organization. Their leadership and expertise continue to shape our projects and strengthen our teams. From the jobsite to our corporate offices, their skill, commitment, and drive continue to expand the impact made within our company and beyond.

Across the industry, representation continues to grow as more women pursue careers in commercial construction and take on roles at every level. At KPRS, we’re committed to supporting that momentum by creating pathways for women to lead and thrive in their contributions. We are proud to share their stories and recognize their impact, while highlight the opportunities that exist throughout our industry.

Jennifer T, Senior Accountant

I work closely with project managers in reviewing committed costs, clarifying cost-related questions, and providing updated financial data to help ensure each project stays on track. While I may not be on-site building the structure, I play an important role in ensuring the project remains aligned with financial goals and runs smoothly.  No two projects are the same, which keeps my work engaging, challenging, and exciting. I have worked on multiple projects throughout my time at KPRS that I am incredibly proud to be a part of. One that stands out most is AMLI Aero; seeing how this job progressed over the years and the relationships I’ve built with the project team and subcontractors has been especially meaningful.

Katie H, Project Manager

I’ve been in the construction industry for 18 years. I got my start in construction after I received my real estate license and planned to work in commercial real estate. Not many women were being hired at the time, and I had a friend who worked as a project assistant at a large commercial construction firm. The company needed another project assistant, so I interviewed, got hired and haven’t looked back since. I enjoy seeing the building at the end of the project. I like seeing it transform from the plans to a finished structure. Now that the Leonard on Beverly senior living project is wrapped up, my team and I are building out the new Congregation Beth Israel, a Jewish synagogue located on the first floor.

Katie P, Project Coordinator

I’m a people-person, so I love getting the chance to work with all the employees in our division, in one form or another. I enjoy the variety of my work in supporting our Amazon projects, knowing that no day will look the same. I like being a valuable source of information for our team, as a go-to when someone is not quite sure who to call. I have a keen eye for how to make a process easier, and work to smooth out the bumps where I can. I appreciate feeling valued as my work spans a variety of descriptions. I’m also very blessed to work alongside a strong female leader on our team and consider myself fortunate to continue learning from her.

Makayla W, Superintendent

I've been very fortunate to have an amazing mentor who has coached and supported me from the beginning of my career in this industry. What I find most appealing about working in construction is the opportunity to lead meaningful projects, solve complex problems, and see the direct impact of your work come to life. My day-to-day as a superintendent consists of coordinating subcontractors, managing and maintaining schedules, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and resolving onsite issues. We keep the project moving efficiently towards completion while producing quality to the highest standard. While I’m currently working with the team at 1400 Long Beach, I really enjoy making connections and building relationships, along with challenging my creativity and problem-solving skills.

Maya K, Estimator

The most rewarding aspect of what I do is being a part of building projects that serve the community. Even though I’m behind the scenes, I know my work helps bring spaces to life where people learn, gather, and connect. Being part of something that has a lasting impact makes it meaningful to me. I think a large part of my success comes from my curiosity and love of learning. As an estimator, I’m reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and soliciting bids from subcontractors. I analyze pricing, level bids, and ensure everything aligns with the project requirements. I also prepare cost breakdowns, develop budgets/bids, help put together proposals, and work with our chief estimator to make sure all our numbers are competitive but still realistic and complete.

Sabrina P, Contract Administrator

While each day is always a little different, I work with our team to facilitate everything from licensing to contracts and insurance, making sure all is compliant and running smoothly for KPRS projects. I think one of the most enjoyable parts is finding solutions to the issues that arise, as some matters are unique and require you to think on your toes. It’s also rewarding to complete a project while having all parties comply without running into any delays. Most recently our team updated the Master Services Agreement for all our subcontractors. The process was challenging, but we were able to collaborate and get everything sent out quickly. Being a part of a great team with good communication makes all the difference.
